MEASUREMENTS: 10" [25 cm] square.
MATERIALS: One ball worsted cotton [2 oz. (56 g) / 95 yard (87 m)]
HOOK: U.S. I/9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook
GAUGE: Not important
PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
Note: Turning ch-2 does not count as a st
Ch 37
Row 1: (RS) Hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each ch to end. Ch 2, turn. (35 st)
Row 2: *Hdc in next hdc, tr in next. Rep from * across to last hdc, hdc in last hdc. (Push tr to RS of work if desired). Ch 2, turn. (35 st)
Row 3: Hdc in each st to end of row. Ch 2, turn. (35 st)
Row 4: Hdc in each of first 2 hdc, *tr in next hdc, hdc in next. Rep from * across to last hdc, hdc in last hdc. (Push tr to RS of work if desired). Ch 2, turn. (35 st)
Row 5: Work same as 3rd row.
Remaining Rows: Rep rows 2-5 for pattern until work from beg measures 10" [25 cm], ending on a RS row. Do not fasten off.
Hanging Loop: Ch 11, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next 9 ch. To join, fold tip of hanging loop down and (perform a sl st in last hdc worked, and, in two lps at tip of hanging loop), sl st in next st. Fasten off.
Weave in all ends.
